| How To Do a Straw Set Instructions: 1) Wash, condition, and detangle your hair. 2) Part hair from ear to ear. Pin up excess hair and starting at the bottom (I find it easiest to start at the bottom) grab a bit of hair and start twirling it onto the straw. You can use bobby pins to secure it at the end if it slips off, or you can just use more moisturizer--whichever works for you. 3) Let it dry! Completely! If not, your hair won't clump as well into beautiful ringlets. You can do your entire head at a time or sections and sit under a dryer. My hair dried while I was working on it so I didn't use a dryer. 4) Loosely twist and slide the straw down from your hair in a way that allows the curl to stay uniform. 5) Optional: separate the ringlets as many times as needed for volume and style. 6)Shake and enjoy :) I did this style for the prom I'm having today: May 19. 2007. I may get some pictures up here of my hairstyle and the dress, we'll see how that works out. Anywho! If you're interested in doing a straw set, I hope you enjoyed it! If you don't know what a straw set is, you might find this interesting and if you think straw sets are stupid...go watch something else. |

| How to Curl Hair with a Straightener. A step by step guide on how to curl your hair with a flat iron/straightener. This how I do it: Here's the gist of how to do this: 1. (optional, but recommended) Use a heat protective cream and apply it sparingly on your hair (too much will usually make it greasy!). i used garnier fructis sleek n shine leave in conditioner 2. Heat up your straightener while you section your hair 3. You will start curling your hair from the bottom up. the hair on the top of your head should be the last thing, and the most important thing you do. 4. Take a section of your hair clasp it between your straightener (i would suggest changing the size of the sections from thick, thin, medium just to create a more natural look) 5. Twist the straightener 360 degrees 6. Pull it down 7. (optional) use hair spray to set in your curls especially if you usually have coarse and stubborn hair 8. you should have curls! TADA! |
